About Me
Since 1988, when I established the first Kopo workshop, I have constantly worked to refine my guitar designs.
I have built several hundred instruments; acoustic, electric, and blends of both. Most have been guitars and basses, but also many electric violins, double-basses, and some special custom one - offs such as the harp, and multi string combination guitar - bass.
My passion for excellence in instrument making has led me to use every material at my disposal; many kinds of wood, carbon fiber, resins, and metals to create superior innovations in comfort and sound.
Currently I am focused on the development of semi-acoustic and electro-acoustic instruments, as they offer great flexibility and expressive power for the modern musician.
My job, my passion, continues to be the search for ways to build better tools for creative musicians.
An innovative craftsman always has something new to learn from within, but it is always a special privilege to learn from my ever - expanding family of musical artists and the musical instrument building artisans from whom I draw my inspiration.
Some of my strongest influences in my work have been; Antonio Stradivarius, René Lacôte, Leo Fender, Lloyd Loar, Ken Parker, Michael Kasha, Alembic, Dubrueil, Leduc, Dupont, and so many others.
Thanks to all of them !
