Mood Indigo
Cherrywood. Height 20 inches.
In this cherrywood carving, I took the basic form of my piece Bass Feeling and elongated it.  This gives it a kind of stateliness. The title is inspired by Charles Mingus's superb playing of Duke Ellington's "Mood Indigo."  I am very pleased with the relationships of the forms to each other. There are some nice rhythms set up by the fingers, strings, and shoulders and back.
