This is a stunning aged LP that plays like it was forged in '58 and carefully broken in just for you over the years! The tone is full and singing, with plenty of growl through higher gain settings and warm, refined tone through anything less distorted. The feel of this guitar is similar to that of a real vintage LP and its comfort and luxury cannot be overstated. The neck has that characteristic feel of old Gibsons. Bends are effortless. If you don't have $100K kicking around to buy a real '58, do yourself a favor and get the next best thing. This axe is set up perfectly - the action is low, the neck is straight and the intonation is spot on. This guitar plays like an absolute dream and has as much vintage feel and tone as you could ever hope for in a modern day Gibson. Item Details Paying homage to the Les Paul, this 50th Anniversary Gibson Tom Murphy Aged Les Paul is all original. There is a low to moderate level of relicing on this guitar though the guitar is in near mint condition from when it was produced in 2008. It comes with with its Certificate of Authenticity from Gibson, custom 50th Anniversary Pickguard (regular white pickguard currently installed), truss rod wrench and directions, and a Gibson 1/4" cable. Some killing features on this golden beast include a single piece mahogany body, maple top, a mahogany neck with '58 profile, bound rosewood fretboard, trapezoid inlays, a set of Gibson Burstbucker humbuckers, cream binding and Gibson Deluxe tuners. All the features of this guitar have that unmistakable comfort that only comes out of an older, worn in but cared for instrument. Weight : 9.26 pounds Serial # : 88346 Overall Condition This 2008 Gibson 1958 Les Paul Murphy Aged Reissue is in near mint condition. There are a few dings toward the top of the back, none of them bigger than the size of a pea. There are no scratches on the top. The frets are in excellent condition - they still have many, many years left on them. All of the other small finish impressions and checking are the result of the relicing process. This is a stunning replica of one of the most notable guitars ever produced and its production has been overseen by Tom Murphy, Gibson's authority on aged Les Pauls. In a few words, this is as close as it can possibly get to the real thing without spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on the genuine article. Also, it's just a fantastic Les Paul.
