Epiphone / Riviera / 1965 / Sunburst / Guitar For Sale
Sitting somewhere between the hollowbody Casino adored by The Beatles and the extravagantly ornate Sheraton, the semi-hollow Riviera is often overlooked. However, this particular Riviera is a great example of just how great of "sleepers" these guitars can really be.
Summary
Body: Semi-hollow maple
Neck: Mahogany factory second neck and rosewood fretboard with parallelogram inlays
Pickups/Hardware: Two minibuckers, three-way pickup selector switch, independent tone and volume controls with potentiometers dating to 1965, frequensator tailpiece, and Kluson-style tuners
Cosmetic Condition: The guitar has some light checking all over. The body is very clean and just has a few dings on the sides and some light scratches from buckle rash on the back. The neck is still fairly glossy and just has a few minor dings on the back. The headstock is very clean. All in all, this Riviera looks incredible for its age.
Modifications: The tuner holes have been fitted for Grovers at some point, but reproduction tuners are currently installed.
