Eternal Guitars / 60s S-Type / 2011 / Fiesta Red / Guitar For Sale
Eternal Guitars
Authentically aged replica electric guitars. Built in Britain using the best quality components and finished in genuine nitro-cellulose lacquer.
‘60s Fiesta Red S-Type
One of the most popular - and at times controversial - guitar colours ever, recreated here on a trim two piece alder body with decades of wear and tear thrown in. The finish is aged to mimic the correct darkening of the top coat lacquer as it would have dulled from its original production line ‘pinkish-red’, down to the correct aged ‘orange-red’ lustre. A worn maple neck with digit friendly profiling is topped with a dark rosewood fingerboard featuring real clay dot markers and mirror polished frets. We set the action low for a 7.25” radius ’board, but every bent note is choke free and clean.
A minty green scratchplate compliments the finish with aged knobs and other plastic fittings. Hardware is all spot-on vintage spec. and aged to match the body and neck wear while three Eternal Guitars single coil pickups provide all the chime and warm response you could ever expect from a three pickup guitar.
Eternal Fiesta Red S-Type Specifications
Neck: Maple finished in aged nitrocellulose with a rosewood 7.25” radius fingerboard and Dunlop 6105 fretwire
Body: Two piece alder
Finish: Aged Fiesta Red nitrocellulose lacquer
Hardware: Aged steel block vintage style vibrato with pressed steel saddles. Split post aged nickel finish tuners.
Electrics: Handwound and aged ‘Eternal Guitars’ bridge and neck single coil pickups: Our S-Type sets begin with hand tooled UK finished bobbins, made of Forbon (compressed fibre) with Alnico 5 staggered polepieces, which are bevelled and then aged both physically and aesthetically. The coils are then handwound using 42 gauge wire and cloth covered hook-up wire. All the pickups are wax potted and each set of covers is individually aged according to taste using hand methods over a period of time to give anything from a ‘plain old look’ to pickups that have seen 50 odd years of very hard misuse. This process can take far longer than actually making the pickup. As each set is individually handwound, they have an average DC reading between 5.4k Ohms and 5.6K Ohms with a typical output of 2.4 Henries. Each set is unique and calibrated, after testing they are engraved before final audio testing. A CRL 5-way switch, Orange Drop Capacitor, CTS split shaft 250k pots, cloth covered hook-up wire and a Switchcraft output jack complete the wiring.
Nut: Hand cut bone
Case: Tweed hardcase included
Price: £1.499/ Approx. €1.720
