This tweed tube beauty delivers all the single ended glory that you could hope for and it does so after years and years of use. This Champ-Amp is exactly what you want to help your next recording deliver the over the top tube crunch that so many rock and blues legends have relied on for their recorded lead guitar sounds. It also makes for the best tube practice amp and tons of fun to bring on small and intimate gigs. This is a vintage gem! Item Details This 1955 Fender tweed Champ, or Champ-Amp, is model 5D1. It seems all original with the exception of the jewel light, fuse holder and the transformer which is a period correct replacement dating to 1957. The speaker is original dating to the 13th week of 1955 ( 395513 ). This little monster features a 6" speaker, lacquered tweed covering, WIDE PANEL rear mounted controls and a leather handle. This 5D1 features a single 6S17 preamp tube, a single 6V6GT power amp tube and a 5Y3GT tube rectifier. Serial # 8953 Factory tube chart code : ED ( April 1955 ) Overall Condition This 1955 Fender Tweed Champ is in very good condition. Everything works great. You can see that it shows moderate wear with some frayed tweed and rough spots but she's still a solid little amp.
