Player's Perspective Music Store Live is proud to present this Fender Custom Shop David Gilmour Signature Stratocaster! If you're here it's because you're probably already well familiar with the incendiary sound that David Gilmour's black Stratocaster has lent to the ground breaking band Pink Floyd over the decades. As we here at Music Store Live are all huge Gilmour and Pink Floyd fans we would hold a guitar baring his name up to the highest possible scrutiny. We are very happy to say that this guitar does an exceptional job of capturing the tone and vibe of David Gilmour's most outstanding guitar work. The first thing I did was dig into every lick from the solo guitar bit at the beginning of Shine On You Crazy Diamond that I had from memory and I could not have been happier with the tone that came out of this machine. It's dark, it's bright, it's so wrong it's right - it's both warm and stinging at the same time. This guitar is exceptionally resonant and it is extremely vocal-like. It plays wonderfully in every position and we've double checked the set up to ensure the neck is straight, the action is low, there's no buzzing and the intonation is properly set. The special electronics make this guitar a dream come true for live use, recording and the type of sonic exploration we've come to appreciate from David Gilmour's playing. Just.... WOW!!! Item Details The Fender Custom Shop teamed up with David Gilmour and his long time guitar tech, Phil Taylor, to make this exquisite replica of Gilmour's most famous guitar. The Black Strat was featured heavily on Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall and David's 2006 solo effort, On An Island. David's Black Strat lent incalculable weight to the ground breaking and unique sound that Pink Floyd is known for.
