Norman Watt-roys 1962 *pre CBS* Fender Jazz Bass in Shoreline Gold with Rosewood fingerboard . Known as The Blockhead, his has been Normans main gigging and recording bass since the mid 80s. This bass has been played on stage with his most famous band the Blockheads and also with Wilko Johnson amongst other notable gigs and recordings. The bass will come with a signed photograph of Norman with the bass & full provenance from the man himself. Original body and neck dated 1962A. Original body finish in shoreline gold with correct bronze base coat and Shoreline Gold colour coat. The body has been over sprayed with clear nitro cellulose, this clear top over spray is old and show lots of checking. The neck finish is original. The fender decal has been replaced. The replacement is an original Fender decal from 1964 .. the pickguard and all hardware .. machine heads, bridge, pots are all 1962 .. the pickups are grey bobbin and date to 1964. The serial number plate rusted so it was taken off the bass many years ago. Norman believes he has it somewhere, it has yet to be found!! The back pickup has been rewound. The frets show a little wear but there is plenty of life left in them. There is a crack & cigarette burn under the E string tuner. ( this does not affect the tuning or playability) The bass shows heavy checking and wear particularly around the edges of the body. All this can be seen in the detailed pictures. Norman is open to offers and cash is king. *note* *Norman used a Badass bridge on this bass for most of its life, the original bridge is now back on the bass* This bass is a commission sale. Payment by instalments
In a situation where payment by instalments is agreed, the following terms & conditions apply:
Payments are to be made on the dates agreed. If the customer fails to do so or pulls out of an agreed deal after 1 month has elapsed from the date of the first payment, 10% of the agreed sale price is non refundable. A further 10% will be added each consecutive month thereafter. Within the first month a 5% fee is applied. Andy Baxter Bass has the right to withdraw from any agreement and re list the item if payments are not made on the agreed dates.
VAT/Duty/Customs Charges
Payable by consignee upon receipt of goods. We are not responsible for VAT, duty or customs charges.
Accounts
Terms are available for qualified buyers. Upon successfully passing credit checks, payment and billing terms will be set up.
Shipping
Shipping costs are in addition to the cost of your guitars or merchandise. ( unless otherwise stated) If you prefer, you can arrange shipping via your own preferred carrier. Shipping charges paid by Andy Baxter Bass are non-refundable.
Returns
Merchandise is sold as is. Please ask all questions, view all pictures, etc. before purchasing. We do not negotiate price after the sale. No exceptions. Just the same, if you find out that the guitar or gear doesn’t work for you, you can return it within 48 hours. Please call for return authorization before shipping any merchandise back. Returned merchandise must be shipped fully insured at the customer’s cost and in it’s original condition. Upon receipt of the merchandise, a refund (less shipping and any other applicable fees) will be issued within 48 hours, subject to a £50 or 5% restocking fee. (Whichever is greater, unless otherwise negotiated) The restocking fees will be waived if the instrument is damaged, or sent incorrectly. ALL dealers will be charged restocking fee on returns for any reason due the the common practice of reselling. Special orders are not returnable.
