Fender / Telecaster / 1978 / Antigua / Guitar
No this isn't a guitar prop used in Urban Cowboy; What you see before you is a somewhat rare example of an Antigua Telecaster. As you may know, The Antigua color option was introduced by Fender in the 60′s to cover manufacturing flaws in it's Coronado II line. The press release stated that Antigua was "grey fading to Antique White" and come to think of it, they're correct. As to having this guitar, there is more to it than just being the proud owner of an obscure color; This Tele is very nicely balanced, with the perfect amount of that amazing, late 70's Fender tone. Intrigued, I just had to play it and as I tell Ray all the time, great guitars inspire you to be a better player. So, after playing this guitar, you too will know what I'm talking about. Now, about the case? Well, I just can't call it, either Waylon owned it or he's looking for it, you'll have to make the call on that and if it is his, lock your doors- he hails from the "old days", where a knuckle sammich or two might get passed around...
