Fodera / Imperial 6 Elite / 2010's / Natural W. Matt Garrison Cutaway Buckeye Burl / Bass
Fodera Imperial 6 Elite with Matt Garrison cutaway.
This beautiful Imperial is the Elite neck-through construction model with a stunning buckeye burl top on top of an ash body with an alder centre tone block. The original owner commissioned it to be built with the deeper cutaway for the lower horn based on the Fodera Matt Garrison Signature model. This gives greater access to the upper registers of the six string but maintains the full scale length (as opposed to the 33″ scale of a Matt Garrison Signature).
As part of the original commission this bass also has the upgraded Seymour Duncan Dual Coil pickups with hand-crafted birdseye maple wooden covers, which match the fingerboard really nicely. This is an upgrade value of around £850 new. The maple fingerboard on maple neck and figured solid top on an Elite body are also additional upgrades which have a value of over £1,250.
Truly a stunning bass to play and just so easy to move around that lovely fingerboard. We took this guitar to a big London bass show and everyone that tried it walked away with a huge grin on their face :)
One owner from new about five years ago, who commissioned this direct from Fodera to his own specification.

Bass Gear Ltd, UK
Bass Gear Ltd is headed by Phil Nixon, who has been playing bass since 1973, whilst skilfully avoiding music fame and fortune. He has enjoyed a successful business career, including running a group of media companies that he started from nothing. Welcome to our page here on Vintage&Rare.
Phil is very happy to respond to all customer enquiries, no matter how tentative.
Bass Gear is on a mission to bring to our fellow bass guitarists, that which has been generally hard to find. If it’s rare, interesting, weird, innovative and hitherto unavailable, then we want to stock it. This typically involves ultra low volume production ’boutique’ brands. We don’t stock everything, just what we think fits within our mission. Personal service, online. Our showroom is in Twyford, Berks, and visitors are welcome.
The non-commercial side of the site is called ‘Basslines‘ and hopefully provides an unbiased source of interesting bass things that are not found elsewhere. Contributions are welcomed!
