Player's Perspective Music Store Live is proud to present this G&L Comanche! This writer just had way too much fun at work demoing this new Comanche from G&L. This S style guitar plays like a bat out of hell, has killer tone and some wonderful pickup combinations to play with AND has a terrific trem system to wail on. The final product is a mysterious blend of recognizable tones the likes of David Gilmour, Allan Holdsworth, Jimi Hendrix and Frank Zappa. The pickups in this guitar are a little on the darker side and offer a lot of fun exploring the many EQ tweaks and sounds you will come across when running through your current setup. We like the "darkness" factor on these pickups because they help ensure that nothing will ever sound "too bright" or harsh. The playability is off the charts on this Comanche. You can play everything from conservative Jazz to wailing over the top Van Halen and the guitar will keep up with you. This is a great guitar and a great buy. Item Details This new Comanche features a premier black burst finish and a swamp ash body. The hard rock maple neck has a maple fretboard, 12" radius and a 1 5/8" nut. The neck profile is akin to a medium C shape. One of the best features about this axe has to be the G&L Magnetic Field Design Z-coil pickups. These little sweeties have soft iron adjustable pole pieces. They are high fidelity and high output while retaining a sweetness to them that is simply irresistible. In addition, a mini toggle switch provides even more possibilities for pickup combinations including simultaneous neck and bridge and all three at once settings. The dual fulcrum vibrato tailpiece makes dive bombing incredibly easy and fun without having to worry about tuning stability. Chrome plated brass saddles and a Graph-tech nut really help contribute to the sterling tone of this guitar. This guitar weighs in at just over 8 pounds and is very well balanced.
