It's Superbowl Sunday morning and although I'm still feeling the effects of our small pre- gameday warmup party last night (read: headache), my feelings of guilt about this exceptional guitar being listed with no description have outweighed my desire to go back to bed. And, because we have to put ribs on the green egg soon, now seems to be the time to strike while my coffee's still hot. I'm not sure who came up with the idea to marry Korina with Maple, but simply put, it works and works well. The Korina body provides great sustain and resonance while the Maple top adds just the right amount of bark and bite to the guitar's tone. We ran this girl through our '88 Marshall 2550 and the classic Rock tone of the 70's and 80's magically appeared. Of course, I say this all happened with me sitting at my desk with my feet propped up and Lee having to play every cover song I could think of (note: a large caliber handgun was pointed at him, so he begrudgingly obliged). AC/DC, Foghat, Aerosmith, lots of Terrible Ted, Thin Lizzy- you name it and and probably called it out. He did try to slip into some Gary Moore when he thought I wasn't looking, but I'd quickly rattle that old .45 and then call out some KISS. That, my dear friends is called crowd control and lends itself to what I mentioned earlier about the guitar- it's got the tone and is in absolute collector quality condition. Desirable, clean and original- our people expect nothing less from us and we do our dead- level best to supply just that. Now, since my beloved Falcons are watching tonight's game from the couch, I'll end this up with words I never thought I'd utter: Go Pitty Pats, Go!
