Gosh! A superb playing and sounding, all original Gibson electric arch top that is 76 years old.... Stop and think about that for a while.

Yes, this is a lovely, all original ES-300 that must be one of the true survivors of the 40's swing era. The pickup is amazing, one of the first with adjustable pole pieces and original almost bakelite type tortoise shell cover.

Considering it's advanced age, this guitar has survived in most excellent condition, there is no signs of any repairs - the neck set is perfect with no signs of any work being done in that area. I cannot see a single thing that has been changed and that in itself is quite something.

It plays very well with a nice fat neck and a good action, even the frets are hardly worn, no doubt due to a lifetimes playing on flat wounds.

I think the case is original, not 100% sure but it is certainly period correct and is just like what you would expect to find a 40's Martin housed in, probably made by Glieb.

There are no finish issues, everything black lights perfectly and even the tuners are good. This was quite a high end model at the time and must have cost a fortune. I wonder how many have survived after 75+ years, in this condition and all original...

Do not it's age put you off. This grand daddy of electric arch tops has no intention of retiring just yet!
