Gibson / J-200 / 1953 / Sunburst / Guitar For Sale
Feast your eyes on this magnificent Gibson J-200 from 1953. This guitar is a pure classic and features a sunburst finish on the front and back which has aged beautifully. It has a spruce top and maple sides and back which are the ingredients for a warm, lush and round tone. It is rare that you will see an early 50's Gibson acoustic in this great of shape! According to the Gibson Shipment Totals book, only 152 were made in 1953, making this a highly sought after guitar made in low numbers.
Summary
Body: Double-bound body with a two-piece spruce top and maple sides and back
Neck: Maple neck and rosewood fretboard with pineapple inlays
Cosmetic Condition: Beautiful! This 200 has some light checking on the body and face of the headstock. There's some finish wear around the soundhole, around a couple of spots on the sides of the body, and around the sides of the neck by the lower frets, mostly on the bass side. There's a few minor dings and scratches here and there and some light buckle rash on the back of the body. The fingerboard is a little worn down on the second and third frets and the gold tuners have some oxidation. Considering its age, this J-200 still looks and sounds great!
Modifications: One crack on the top and two on the sides have been repaired.
Weight: 4lbs 14oz
Case: Original hardshell
