Gibson / LG-2 / 1943 / Sunburst / Guitar For Sale
Here's a rare guitar! The LG-2 was Gibson's small-body acoustic, the successor to the L-0 and L-0 of the 1930's. It was first produced during World War II, during the "Banner" era, when Gibsons featured a banner on the headstock reading "Only A Gibson Is Good Enough". These wartime Gibsons are highly sought after by both collectors and players, and this LG-2 can satisfy both. It's not entirely original - there's some overspray on the back, the bridge is a new (and perfect) replacement by Dennis Berck, and the tuners are probably not original - but all is in great shape. The best news is that the guitar plays and sounds like a dream!
One feature found on some Banner Gibsons is the "skunk stripe" - a line of black paint down the center of the lower part of the top. These were used to disguise less-than-perfect center seams resulting from wartime wood shortages - and this is only known LG-2 with a skunk stripe! NOHSC.

About Nine Ball Guitars
I've been collecting, buying and selling modern and vintage guitars for thirty years, first in the US, where I was born and lived for many years, and now, after moving first to London and then southwest France, in Europe. My goal for 9Ball is to offer European guitar players and collectors an alternative to the high prices usually asked for guitars and amplifiers on this side of the ocean, along with a good selection of guitars on hand here in France, and a friendly and trustworthy partner in selecting your next guitar or amplifier.
At 9Ball, in addition to a wide range of vintage electric and acoustic guitars, I specialize in Gibson Les Paul Historic Reissues. I first discovered these amazing guitars several years ago, and have learned as much as I can about what separates them from normal production Les Pauls, as well as the ins and outs of the different years and models. I believe the Historic Reissues offer a playing experience that comes very close to the original 1954 - 1960 Les Pauls, while costing far less. Take a look at the Les Paul Historic Reissues on the 9Ball site and see if one doesn't make your heart beat a little faster. If you're looking for something in particular that you can't find, email or call and I'll see if I can't track it down for you on my next buying trip to the US.
