Player's Perspective
Music Store Live is proud to present this 1956 Gibson Les Paul Junior! This is a smoking hot playing vintage Les Paul Junior. Repeat - this guitar, close to its 60th birthday, plays like a bat out of hell. The sound is 100% awesomeness. This guitar has a tone that only comes from years of maturation. Years of service have helped to bring the tone of this guitar to full bloom. We have ensured that this axe plays to its best and you know what? It plays incredible from top to bottom. There's no buzzing. The strings bend easily and come back to tune. You can bend the living $#!+ out of the strings and they just ask for more. This vintage LP Jr. just couldn't be any more fun or statisfying to lay hands on.
Item Details
This TV Yellow 1956 Les Paul Junior has had a fair amount of parts replaced but it comes with all of its original parts. If you wanted to you could put this guitar back together with most of its original parts that are included. From a player's perspective however, we wouldn't change a thing. Some standout features on this guitar include the one piece mahogany body, Brazilian rosewood fretboard, dot inlays and two P-90 pickups.
The finish has not been tampered with, the neck has never been sanded down or repaired and the neck joint is in excellent condition. The original P-90 pickups sound amazing as you might expect. The guitar still houses its original tiger grey capacitors. Two tone pots have been replaced with the originals included. The original jack and switch have been replaced though the originals are included. The original jack plate is cracked and replaced but the original is included. The original toggle switch ring has been replaced with the original included. The amber bakelight switch tip is original. The only part of the finish that has had anything done to it is the headstock logo. If you look you will see the logo appears a bit more white than usual on a guitar this age. That is because the finish was removed over the logo to reveal a more uniform look as years of aging was giving it a half and half chipped yellow lacquer look. This was done for purely aesthetic reasons. The bridge is original though the post anchors have been replaced with the original posts included. The frets have recently been replaced and were done so excellently. The nut has been replaced with nylon and the original is included. A set of repro Kluson tuners have been installed with the original screws and bushings. The original Kluson tuners and new buttons are included. This LP Jr comes with a non original 1960's era Gibson case.
