Gibson / Les Paul Standard 1958 Reissue R8 Bavarian Makeover II / 2003 / Honey Burst / Guitar

2003 Gibson Les Paul Standard 1958 Reissue R8, honey burst. Serial number 83091. This guitar has had a Bavarian Makeover II by Florian Jäger, including a new certified BRW fretboard, refinish, new binding, new truss rod and top carve reshaping. The guitar had a variety of tuners, pickups and other hardware mounted at one time but it's back to most of the original hardware. The tailpiece stud anchors are the longer, vintage correct metal variety and the treble side stud was moved by Jäger to be in the vintage correct position. We believe the pots to be upgrades as well, the electronics are of course wired 50s style. The cheap Gibson bumblebee tone caps were upgraded to better sounding ones. We tried different pickups (Wizz, Wolfetone, Gibson) on this guitar and finally opted for an old Gibson 57 Classic in the bridge position and a newer Burstbucker 1 in the neck position. Why? This turned out to be the best sounding combination. We don't know how this guitar sounded before the makeover but it's certainly a special one now. Comes with the original Gibson Custom Shop hardshell case and both the Gibson case candy including the certificate and the Florian Jäger certificates. Weighs 4.1kg.
