Gibson Super 400 1970 Cherry Sunburst

Ca. 1970 Gibson Super 400, cherry sunburst. Made in USA, serial number 174626. This guitar mostly original and comes with the original Gibson hardshell case. The strap buttons and a few pickup ring screws are replacements. The pickguard disintegrated like so many of these old celluloid pickguards do and is an older very pretty replacement. There is obvious damage to the finish, pickup rings and pickup cover from the fumes of the disintegrating pickguard. The beautfully yellowed / faded cherry sunburst solid spruce top also has a few expertly repaired cracks (also around the input jack area). There is some clearcoat overspray visible on the guitar. The guitar was also has an older refret and a recent precision fret leveling. Has the original Varitone control tailpiece. As you can see, this one's been played a lot and it shows. It's easily understandable why: the neck is so nicely worn in you don't want to put it down. The guitar has the more popular 43mm nut width. The original Gibson Patent No. Sticker T-Top pickups sound fantastic and nail that Jazz tone 100%. The bridge appears to be same design more commonly seen on the Johnny Smith model. Weighs 3.75kg.
