Sometimes, we receive a guitar and it makes me stop and think for a second. Take this Gibson Map guitar: So many things could have happened in history and the guitar would have a completely different shape. For instance: If it weren't for the Pilgrims, we wouldn't have settled the colonies up in New England and pissed off the Indians with a bunch of undercooked turkey. If it weren't for that great battle of the Alamo, we wouldn't have Texas poking out of the bottom of the Union- it would just be a flat line from New Mexico to Louisiana. If it weren't for that lady Pocahontas showing those fellas, Lewis and Clark the way to the West Coast, the prices of land in Las Vegas would be triple trippin' and the most expensive desert in the world. Lastly, if it wasn't for Ponce de Leon, Florida might belong to Cuba and the bottom of Georgia would probably have a big fence running across it, because you know how we Southerners like our security. That's a long- winded way of saying that many fine folks contributed to making the shape of our nation what it is today and without them, Gibson could have just drawn a big rectangle on a chunk of Mahogany and slapped a neck on it. It may not have been very interesting, but ultimately, you just cannot go wrong with two humbuckers screwed into a block of wood with Gibson on the headstock. On, I forgot- this package even has the T- shirt that came with these guitars, but I'm a little round in my middle age, so a "small" no longer fits...
