Gretsch / Brian Setzer 6120 Nashville, G6120SSU / 2000 / Gretsch Orange / Guitar
Every time I look at a 6120, I think back on that time in 1993 when I went to my first Dallas guitar show. Minding my own business, I hear over the intercom, "Does anyone have a 6120 that they can loan Brian Setzer"? Wow (modern buzzword)! "He's here" I thought? Will he play? Well, not only was he there but he forever more shelled down the corn, from "Rock This Town" to "My Cadillac", Gretsch twang could be heard for miles around. That is when I heard the magic of a Gretsch through a Fender Blond Bassman, combined with just a hint of echo. Still to this day, when I hear it, I get it. Just cool.. This guitar is a recreation of Setzer's famous 1959 6120, complete with all of the cool bells and whistles. 'Elk's, do yourself a favor; Get in your car, roll the windows down, get your "Best Of" CD and play "My Cadillac". You'll feel alive, cool and just maybe at peace with the universe. It's Jazz man....
