Gretsch / Country Classic II / 1999 / Walnut / Guitar For Sale
I so want to say "George Harrison". Please stop me from saying that. For the love of God, I will refrain... George Harrison. I said stop it, dummy. Isn't it funny when, you try to convey what a guitar sounds like, you automatically pull the "artist card" instead of trying to articulate what the instrument is actually like. I suppose it's the lazy man's way of writing a description and because the Beatles heyday came before me, I grew up listening to Kiss and Van Halen. With that being said, I can appreciate the tone of a Filtertron pickup because after all, Setzer also played a Gretsch. The tone of this guitar is not unlike it's famous predecessors; It's kind of open with all of those acoustic overtones. I can see why (dare I speak his name again) played a guitar like this early on in his career and this instrument too is not lacking in amenities. Our Country Classic is kinda like a Cordoba with that "rich, Corinthian leather": Not that expensive and will have all of the ladies admiring you and your landau roof. As they say, "It can't buy you love, but it sure will buy you this guitar for not much cake"...
