This G5440LS highlights the fact that Gretsch knows their low end just as well as they know their guitars. The sound of this bass is tight, round, and warm, with an articulate high end and lows that don't get too boomy. Smooth and fast, the neck will let you hold down a groove or craft a nice fat solo with equal ease. It's a relatively large bass, but the hollow body construction keeps it from being too heavy to play for hours on end. Rock, blues, jazz, punk, soul - this bass will provide a great foundation for just about any genre of music. Item Details This G5440LS Electromatic Hollow Body Long Scale bass has a hollow maple body with a bold orange finish. The neck is also made of maple and has 22 medium jumbo frets on a rosewood fretboard. The all-maple hollow construction represents a time-tested tonal profile: The maple provides a crispness to the sound that gets balanced out by the gentle warmth of the hollow body. With a long 34" scale length, this bass has a snappy feel and plenty of room for your fingers not to get in their own way. Black Top Filter'Tron pickups respond well whether you back off on the tone or go for a more treble-heavy bass sound. Other features include enclosed precision tuners and a rosewood-based 4-Saddle Adjusto-Matic bridge. A reliable and tone efficient long-scale bass, the G5440LS is ready for years of service in the practice room, studio, or on the stage.
