The playability on this guitar is simply off the charts - effortless bends, exacting fretwork, perfect intonation and it resonates in a big way. This axe is ready to split apart any style of Rock you can put on the choping block. The Bigsby is forgiving and very responsive. The tone is fat, full, thick, wooly and gnarly - you can easily switch from the darkest murk to the rippingest of leads. This would make George proud. George Harrison played his 1957 Gretsch Duo Jet at the Cavern Club from February 1961 to August 1963, the formative years that would sharpen The Beatles act and ready them for world wide stardom. He used it to record their first album, Please Please Me and the song of the same name which was their first number one hit.
