This White Falcon plays like a dream which makes good sense because it was originally conceived to be a "dream guitar" - more on that later. This Gretsch can run the gamut in a big way! The clean tones are just that - big and clean with a clarity you would expect from a very nice acoustic arch top. Add a little grit and this guitar is ready to respond - the pickups spit out lush and crunchy harmonics all over the place. The neck is fabulous - straight, fast and very comfortable. The action is set on the lower side and the intonation is spot on. This is a tremendous playing and sounding guitar that covers lots of ground! Item Details The Gretsch Falcon was the only guitar competing with the Gibson Super 400 in 1955, and it's been tweaked and refined consistently since then. Except for the rosewood fingerboard, the whole guitar is maple, which makes for a spirited, crisp tone that works well in a variety of musical contexts. The neck is round and beefy but comfortable enough to really let loose on. Dual DynaSonic pickups work well with the full hollow construction to give you a whole array of clean and distorted tones. This guitar can put out sparkling, shimmery clean tone and punchy, meaty twang with equal ease. With a bit of grit, the sound really fattens up, perfect for dirty blues or rock tone. The synthetic bone nut and Synchro-Sonic bridge ensure tuning stability no matter what. These features add up to a rich, dynamic instrument that is ready for the stage and studio alike.
