Few things inspire creativity more than the resonance, warmth, and simplicity of a well-built, straight ahead acoustic guitar. The F-40 is a rich, impeccably crafted instrument that gives you everything you need for great tone and great playability. The sound is incredible - think round, balanced lows, silky mids and crisp, articulate highs. This guitar is so responsive that your fingers can function like a tone knob. You can lean into it for punchy, aggressive sounds or back off for a sound that showcases the broad tonal subtleties of acoustic music. The neck is comfortable and easy to play everywhere. As this guitar ages, it's only going to sound and play better and better. Item Details This F-40 features a solid red spruce top, solid mahogany sides and back, and scalloped red spruce bracing. The three piece mahogany/walnut/mahogany neck has a rosewood fretboard with 20 frets and a 12" radius. All of the wood used has rich, consistent grain, which might have something to do with how easily you can "hear the wood" in the tone of this guitar. The 1.6875" nut is wide enough for fingerpickers, but will keep strummers and flatpickers happy as well. The bone nut and saddle give you tuning stability and precision - you won't get those annoying pops and clicks when tuning. Other appointments include a 25 1/2" scale length, Gotoh SE700-05M Open-Back tuners, nickel hardware and tortoise shell body binding. These features make for a perfectly balanced instrument that embodies everything we love about acoustic music.
