Baldwin Burns Buzzaround Fuzz Box
Possibly the greatest fuzz box ever (that wasn't home-made), certainly a contender for the crown. The amazing thing is that this was made in the 60s making it 50 years old, and still few modern pedals can match it let alone surpass it. Made in limited numbers even back then, it is now so rare that wealthy collecters and rock stars would snap one regardless of the price if one came on the market. A 60s Tonebender came up for sale recently, which is not regarded as good as a Buzzaround by those in the know, and went for £1,300. If two bidders got into an auction bidding war over a 60s Buzzaround it would probably go for way more.
Some history on the original pedal:
"Between 1965 and 1968 the merged UK subsidiary of Baldwin Piano & Organ Company and Burns London, called Baldwin Burns Ltd, produced a small number of guitar effects pedals. One of these was a fuzz pedal called the Buzzaround. Gary Hurst reportedly designed this pedal around 1966/67 (unconfirmed and probably hearsay) and the circuit is extremely close to the 3-Knob Tone-Bender circuit. Those with a flair for the conspiracy theory suggest that, with very good reason, the Sola Sound Tone-Bender MKIII is basically the Buzzaround circuit with the addition of a tone control. The pedal contains three knobs, being Sustain, Balance (this is basically a bias control for Q3) and Timbre (a volume/tone control, which is never fully off)"
The combination of its rareity and its quality have made this pedal legendary.

Our INVENTORY is without compare here in Basel. We have designed the inventory with variety being the most important factor. Jazz players, metal, blues, indie, folk and classically minded players will all find something that speaks to them. Traditional styles, the strangely shaped, vintage and retro, modern, and contemporary are all represented.
CUSTOMER SERVICE is our number one priority here. If we do not have what you want, we will order it for you! We will do the research, and find the exact right piece of gear for you.
Typical Guitar Store ‘snobby’ attitude, is not welcome here. We have EXTENSIVE KNOWLEDGE here, but, we do NOT know everything! We are looking to extend our own knowledge as well as transferring it to the customer. We encourage customers to come to our store and relax, have a coffee and cake at our Take-away.
