Kehlet Guitars / Great 6 / Guitar For Sale

Exclusive of applicable Taxes/Duties/VAT/Shipping
The Kehlet “Great” model was specially designed on request by Danish guitarist Morten Woods who wished for himself a new 12-string guitar with the full sound power of the Kehlet Concert, however slightly smaller in body size.

The “Great 12” was, eventually, given a body shape which combines the features of the Kehlet Concert and Grand Folk “Finn Olafsson Signature” models (see pictures to the right) - The “Great 12 Special Edition Morten Woods” was hereby born.

The experiment proved so successful that Kehlet Guitars have also developed a 6-string model: The Kehlet “Great 6”.

The “Great 6” and “Great 12” may both be ordered in “Basic”, “Standard”,
and “Custom” versions.

The Woods

Concert Deluxe back: Flame maple

The choice and the quality of the wood is essential to a guitar's sound and performance. Ole Kehlet experiments and explores different wood materials, using such types as quilted bird's eye maple (picture below), Brazilian rosewood, flame maple (picture above), German spruce, sitka spruce, cedar wood, African ebony hard wood (picture to the right) etc.

Folk Vintage back: Quilted bird's eye maple

All Kehlet Guitars feature tops of either German spruce, sitka spruce, redwood or cedar wood and fretboards made from the finest African ebony.
The finish is cellulose lacquer on all models, except the Kehlet “Classic” which is French polished.

“As a luthier, my intention is to create guitars which fulfill the dreams of the artists who play them. My job is to turn dreams into reality. I believe life is much too short to create anything but the ultimate. Kehlet Guitars start where your dreams begin,” - Ole Kehlet, born in 1952.

In 1973, Ole Kehlet began work as a guitar repairer. A job that gave life to a dream: To realise his own sound, design and his visions of the instrument's playability. It requires both faith and endurance to pursue your dreams, but with great efforts come great results.

Today – more than three decades later – Kehlet, a highly recognized guitar ornamentation artist, too, is holding esteem as one of the leading guitar makers in Europe.
