This is what you may call a Master Grade Lowden F50C Custom with Bevel armrest, cutaway, Fan Fret option, Rare mastergrade Madagascar Rosewood back and matched to maybe even rarer mastergrade Adirondack top. The 50-series is special, and each guitar is "unique" in its kind. The tone of the guitar is everything you expect, and more, i have reveal - much more in this case- The breathtaking appearance pairs with a unique tone experience. The woods are determined by George Lowden personally as AAAAA mastergrade quality, only available to the 50 series. Madagascar of this quality- is considered the closest thing to Brazilian rosewood, with the great advantage that this is not a prohibited species, only extremely rare.
The fan fret is developed by George Lowden himself, and based on the idea that this multi-scale guitar must have many advantages to the standard scale. My sceptic towards the guitar turned clockwise when I started playing it as it is incredibly easy to play. Based on a 680mm bass side scale and 635mm short-treble scale, both bass and treble tones are more pronounced, as well as the drop-tune ability has increased dramatically. The longer bass side scale provides a much stronger response when tuned to D or C tunings. Of course it looks stunning also. Each Fan Fret Lowden is entirely hand made in Ireland and made with the greatest attention and mastergrade tonewoods.
Custom Features include Flamed Maple soundhole inlay, Tasmanian Blackwood Bevel armrest and bindings, Cutaway, Lowden branded Capo. Other features include ebony bound ebony fingerboard with matching maple purfling, gold Gotoh 510 tuners with ebony knobs, Rosewood-Maple-Mahogany purflings. Every 50 series is unique in its kind and specifically made. Playing a Lowden guitar at this level, is a unique experience, and calling it 'impressive' would be an understatement. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood.
