Martin / 00-21 / 1970 / Natural / Guitar

Just missed out on the Braz. But CITES friendly this one :-)

Here's a near MINT 1970 Martin 00-21 folk guitar with Indian rosewood back and sides, crack free spruce top (in fact crack free all over) in astounding, near mint condition with the perfect action, no neck reset required and with original 00 size, Martin blue thermo-moulded hard shell case that does not have a broken handle. Not often you come across these in this lovely condition.

If you are not familiar with these gorgeous, small bodied Martins, they are pretty much a finger pickers delight. Do not expect to get big, boomy cannon type chord strums from these, they are more for the picker who appreciates finesse.

They are very responsive to any picking inflections you care to inject into your style and will respond in kind to precise playing, delivering a predictable tone that is just... totally classic - you will have heard them on many a recording. They were stable favourite during the American folk scene in the 60's and early 70's but it is not so often you see these here in the UK. In fact the only reason we have this is due to the last one we sold recently (see sold archives). Another owner of a 00-21 got in touch with us and we bought it on the spot as it was just so nice!

All original finish, possibly the pickguard has been replaced as they are usually black from this period and originals are infamous for their banana impersonations at the bottom edge so it is common to find replaced guards.

Hardly a mark on it anywhere, just a few minor dings on the edge of the headstock. TOTALLY crack free and structurally sound as the Great British Pound... Actually, at the moment, probably a LOT sounder than our pound is...

Rare opportunity. If you love to pick things, this sweet Martin shouldn't pass you by.
