Player's Perspective Music Store Live is proud to present this 1966 Martin 000-18! This tried and true finger picking war horse has been exercised by blues and folk music's heroes for decades for a good reason : because it's a sweet sounding axe and and easy picker to get friendly with. This '66 triple 0 has held up very nicely and has a juicy fat tone. The first position rings like a bell and I've given this little monster the capo test and it passed with flying colors. It's set up very well and nicely intonated. This will make for a great vintage strummer, recording companion or just your all time favorite acoustic guitar. Long live the triple 0 ! Item Details This 000-18 was most likely made in the earlier part of '66 due to the tortoise binding which changed to black later in the year. The smaller body is composed of a solid spruce top with mahogany back and sides and a mahogany neck with one of the sweetest rounded profiles your hands have ever held. The rosewood bridge has been reglued using hide glue. The Grover tuners are original to the guitar however the frets and nut have been are replaced. The neck joint is solid and has never been reset nor does it need to be. We have paired this guitar with a new Martin hard shell case. Serial # 211896 Overall Condition This 1966 Martin 000-18 is in very good condition. You can tell this guitar has been played very well over the years and anything necessary to keep it in great playing condition has been taken care of. There are a few small body / finish dings none of which are scary looking and a few light finish scratches. There are no cracks or anything structural to be concerned about - this axe is solid. The frets are in excellent condition. It's hard to overstate how in the groove this guitar still is. If I were shopping for an 000-18 and found this in my local store it'd be hard to not snatch it up on the spot. It has a sweet tone with great projection and is in the kind of condition I would want my vintage acoustic player to be in. Enjoy!
