Nathan Sheppard Guitars / NSG 25 Custom / 1999 / Natural / Guitar

OK I think that Nathan Sheppard has stopped making guitars, so I guess that this is now a rare beast.

I bought this from a chap who claimed that it was Nathan's own guitar, made by him, for him! PLEASE NOTE I CAN FIND NO YEAR ON THIS AND AS SUCH AM GUESSING AT AN AGE.

As such it has some awesome wood - chambered Walnut back, Walnut/Koa and spidered rosewood neck, highly figured Koa top - simply AWESOME - the Koa with it's rubbed wax finish has a 3D sheen under certain lights - fabulous!

The set neck is a joy to play and has a low/fast action.

The pickups are what intrigued me first - Bare Knuckle "Knuckleduster" pickups - basically they're 2 single coil pickups, linked.  The 3 way micro toggle switches allow you to select either of the coils, and both combined in Humbucker mode in the centre position.  Standard Gibson Style Neck/Both/Bridge pickup selector. Locking Gotoh Delta series tuners, and String Through Body Bridge.

The heel on this guitar is almost non-existent - and so if you like playing up at the "dusty end you'll love it!

Reference points - well the pickup arrangement is pure Telecaster, and the choice of the woods makes this MORE tele than a tele - brighter, more air - almost acoustic.  The well designed tone citcuit on this can tame the treble frequencies if you want more "Meat." The Humbuckers and action make this a great guitar for "shredding" and high gain styles, the coil splits and brightness make it a great guitar for clean and "twangy" styles, it almost covers all bases!! (I struggled to get a decent "muted" jazz sound...)

The guitar comes with Hiscox NSG logo'd hard case.

Original RRP was about £2500  - and that was for just the standard model - this is something in a totally different league!

Philip's Old Second Hand Guitars (POSH Guitars) Has arisen not only out of my indefatigable enthusiasm for all things wooden with strings, but also from my love of music and creativity.

I firmly believe in a Creator God , who in his creativity gave us a gift. That gift being music, and in our expression of music we give voice to our passion for God.

I am not a company, but I buy guitars of a high quality, use them for a while and then sell them on. Sometimes this allows me to make a small profit, and I shift that profit on into financing the supply of quality instruments for Christian Musicians who are actively working in a recognised Church fellowship.

In this regard I'm happy to announce that Harvey Gerlitz has allowed me to distribute his Guitar Care Products in the UK, and hopefully through these establish a finance base to expand this mission.

In addition to resourcing Christian worship and creativity, 10% of any profits will be automatically passed on to financing Christian work in Africa, building orphanages to care for the victims of the AIDS epidemic there.

All items purchased will be despatched within 24 hours of received payment. Postage in the UK is by First Class postage, outside the UK it's by Air Mail.
