Music Store Live is proud to present this 2012 PRS Modern Eagle Quatro! We sell a lot of PRS guitars here and we are huge fans of their work. We love it when one comes in and just blows your doors back. This is one of them. This Modern Eagle has to be played and heard to be believed (we're sure our Skype demos will go through the roof on this one). The feel of this neck is incendiary - smooth, inviting, full, warm, deadly fast and laser beam exact. The fretwork is impeccable - notes and harmonics are just leaping off this fretboard. It plays perfectly in tune everywhere on the neck. The pickups have the vocal-like quality of a vintage single coil but they are humbuckers. This guitar sounds fat, full and ripe with a huge tone of its own. The lows are smooth, the mids are juciy and the highs cut through with a sweetness that, again, has the be heard to be believed. This is a no-brainer, barn burning blue ribbon Modern Eagle Quatro.
The Modern Eagle Quatro has much to offer so let's dive right in. Finished in CHARCOAL BURST, the flame maple top and mahogany body have been given the V12 finish special treatment. 12 years in development and a mixture that falls somewhere between acrylic and nitro, the finish is thin, hard and clear. It absolutely lets this guitar breathe enough to do its thing.
The neck and bound fretboard is made from select East Indian Rosewood. You can rest easy knowing this is one of the nicest pieces of wood you are likely to ever see crafted into a guitar neck.
The PRS "Pattern" neck profile is derived from the earliest PRS guitars that live with people like Carlos Santana and Peter Frampton. It is an updated version of a Wide / Fat profile. It is outrageously comfortable, smooth and fast.
PRS says the 53/10 pickups are the warmest sounding vintage themed pickup they've ever made and we believe them. They deliver all the fatness and warmth of your favorite vintage single coils while actually being a humbucking pickup. These pickups are wound on a machine and using the same wire that was used to wire some of the most desirable pickups of the 50's. In fact, "Wire specifications for the 53/10™ are slightly different than the others and are made using a special process reserved for a single-coil bridge pickup circa 1953; however, the 53/10™ is a humbucking pickup." The tone pot is wired with a push / pull for coil tapping.
This PRS Modern Eagle Quatro also features a PRS tremolo bridge, Phase III locking tuners, hybrid hardware, a Cocobola headstock overlay with Mother of Pearl and Paua Heart Modern Eagle inlay as well as a Modern Eagle hard shell case.
This 2012 PRS Modern Eagle Quatro is in pristine mint condition with absolutely no nicks, scratches, or blemishes of any kind.
