Player's Perspective
Music Store Live is proud to present this 2013 PRS P22 10-Top! A guitar like this really gets the musical ideas flowing. The tone is everything you'd expect from PRS, which means that this guitar doesn't sound quite like any other. The sound is dynamic and rich, whether you're making it scream with heavy distortion or taking it through a quieter musical landscape that demands warmth and subtlety. The piezo pickup system offers a shimmering acoustic sound that makes it hard to believe this is a solidbody, and it can be combined in a number of ways with the humbuckers to create surprising new sounds. The feel is that characteristic PRS feel - effortless and comfortable. Perfect for the musician who demands great tone and a wide tonal palate but doesn't feel like changing guitars every song.
Item Details
This PRS P22 10-top, finished in Makena Blue, sports one of the nicest quilted maple tops we have seen. The grain is deep and consistent throughout, and the Makena Blue finish really brings the curls in the wood to life. Light plays off the top in a way that gives a water-like, shimmering effect. The lightweight mahogany body fills out the design. The mahogany neck features a Pattern Regular neck profile (the updated version of PRS's wide/fat based on older pre-factory designs), a rosewood fretboard with Bird inlays and a 25" scale length. The P22 TM treble and bass pickups and the PRS/LR Baggs Piezo system are wired to a 5 way blade switch as well as a three-way mini toggle to let you dial between magnetic pickups, piezo or both at the same time. The result is a level of control over your tone that guitarists usually don't have. The PRS Piezo adjustable stoptail bridge, a feat of guitar engineering in itself, makes setup and intonation a breeze. In addition, there are two separate output jacks and a quick release 9-volt battery compartment. Other fine features on this P22 include hybrid hardware, PRS Phase III locking tuners, a PRS Tremolo bridge and a PRS hard shell case. This is a stunning, elegant instrument that has enough tonal options to cover any style of music and help you discover new tones waiting to be unleashed.
