Paul Reed Smith Mira Korina at a Glance:

  • Distinctive tone
  • Quality components
  • A fitting addition to the PRS line

Distinctive tone

The Mira Korina's solid Korina body is slightly thinner than that featured on other PRS models. Korina, also known as Limba, is an African wood known for its legendary tonal qualities that add mids to the usually more mellow mahogany sound. The result is a very light guitar with a rich tone that is further enhanced by the versatile Mira humbuckers. These open-coil humbuckers can be coil-tapped to produce an astounding range of tones, from sparkling clean thick overdrive. It gives you the sensation of a purpose-built, stripped-down guitar without sacrificing any of the features, playability, or quality PRS guitars are renowned for.

Quality components

In addition to the solid mahogany body, 25"-scale Custom 24 Korina neck, and rosewood fingerboard, the Mira Korina features an integrated Stoptail bridge/tailpiece. In concert with the PRS locking tuners, this tailpiece gives the Mira Korina great tuning stability with an efficient, "less-is-more" approach. You can also coax a great range of sounds from the Mira Korina's dedicated Bass and Treble pickups, thanks to a 3-way blade pickup selector and volume and tone controls.

A fitting addition to the PRS line

All Paul Reed Smith guitars are designed for top-notch performance, right out of the case and the Mira Korina is no exception. Constructed from the finest tonewoods and components, PRS instruments carry on a commitment to quality that's been the brand's hallmark since 1985, when Paul Reed Smith himself started hand-building guitars for some of the most elite players in the world.

Brief history ( A true one as well )

Shortly after opening, MUG got off to a flying start. The first customer was Jimmy Page, the guitarist of Led Zeppelin. He asked for Ernie Ball electric guitar strings and Bruce answered.

-- The only thing is....eh ..--- " We ordered them a while back, but they haven't arrived yet!"

Luckily enough, Jimmy went away satisfied with his Fender Superbullets or Sound City Strings.

However, as soon as Jimmy had left the shop, Bruce got on the phone to his trade friends in England to find out more about Ernie Ball.

It didn't take long before MUG was the agent for Ernie Ball in Sweden.
This is how Bruce started his "crusade" through Sweden and how MUG got off to a flying start.

The year was 1973. It's now 2015 and Jimmy Page probably won't ever be coming back, but we at MUG see a Jimmy Page in all our customers. This is the way it's always been.

Welcome to our website and our shop as well.
