Reitz Guitars / Mando Boy / Cellulose Lacquer / Stringed Instrument For Sale
This instrument is tuned like a mandolin, only an octave below.
I used to call it an octave mandolin, but has been told that it is a mandola - that´s what we call it.
Instead of the floating bridge often used on mandolin instruments, I use a pin bridge . That way the strings are securely anchored in the middle of the soundboard. You don´t need worrying about the bridge moving, and soundwise it gives a nice low end.
This mandola was originally made for the danish multi instrumentalist Jesper Henning Pedersen.
