Rickenbacker / 4001 / 1974 / TRANSLUCENT WALNUT / Bass

1974 Rickenbacker 4001 Bass in RARE TRANSLUCENT WALNUT FINISH in very good 'natural road-relic' finish, with original Ric blue fuzz lined hardshell case.  THIS IS A SUPER SUPER COOL VINTAGE RIC.  In an age when folks are paying custom shops thousands to 'artificially age' their guitars - here is the REAL THING, courtesy of many years of honest gigging and working the clubs.  The serial number is very difficult to read due to some rust on the jack plate, but she appears to be ND22XX - which dates this great Walnut Rick to April of 1974.  For those players that love the feel of a 'broken in' great player bass - this is it.  There is a good bit of checking to the Walnut finish - lots of scratches, dings, and honest playwear.  There is an area on the back that is worn through the finish, again - just gigging and wearing the guitar.  There is wear to the finish on the back of the neck, as well.  Small repaired crack on the upper part of the pick guard, see photo.  Ric-o-sound is currently not hooked up, so only the mono jack is enabled - next owner will just have to get the ric-o harness and put it in.  Original frets show some wear, as you would expect - but are still very playable.  Original vintage Grover tuners, original pickups, pick guard, knobs, and original hard case.  The case is super cool - lots of vintage 1970s stickers on the exterior!  A schaller straplock button has been added at the neck heel, but can be removed.  This TRANS WALNUT FINISH is a pretty rare thing - ONLY ONE WE'VE HAD IN THE SHOP - , and is quite a classy and yet earthy finish.  Couple of fingerworn spots through the finish near the bridge pickup.  This is the coolest and vibyiest older Ric 4001 we have had - please call 859-261-5500 for an in hand description.  Many more photos available!  Payment via bank wire transfer, US currency - buyer pays all shipping fees- we use either UPS or USPS - Thanks.
