Sanden Guitars / VRB-C-FF 30 (In Stock) / 2010's / Guitar

Our 30th anniversary model!. This guitars is a very special guitar. All material in this instrument are very old, the best there is. The back and sides are brazilian rosewood and was imported to Sweden in 1958. I have had it since 1984. The back is three piece with special joints. They are curved to follow the grain and colors of the wood. The sides colors goes from real dark to light almost like it is sunburst. The top is german spruce which I bought in 1982 when I started to build. I saved this top for a special occasion. It is very tight grain with a lot of silk. The top is trimmed with blue abalone paua. So is the rosett and the inlay on the fretboard. The neck is very old honduras mahogany, brought to Sweden in the early 1920. I have owned it since 1989. The bracing on the back is laminated with rosewood and spruce. This makes them real stiff, and then it is possible to make the back a little thinner. All for better resonance. The guitar also have a fanfret fretboard. The stringlength is 650mm on the high E string and 680 mm on the low E. This makes it possible to tune the guitar very low. The guitar also have a second soundhole on the side. This get the sound of the guitar right in you face. The tuners is Gotoh chrome with ebony buttons. The guitar comes with a special made Hiscox case called Artist and is ivory white. We have also made a small book about the guitar together with pictures during the building process. We can guaranty you that we have done everything possible to make a this guitar simply the best.

The best material is needed to build an instrument that is pleasing to the ear, the eyes and the heart.

Slow growing wood that has been cut and dried properly is a basic requirement. Therefore, we personally choose and purchase the material each year from Germany, the United States, England and India.

Michael has learned this from the two masters he studied with, Bozo Padunavac in San Diego in 1982, where he learned to build steel-string guitars and mandolins, and then with Georg Bolin between 1984-1986, where he learned to build classical guitars.

In 1986 Michael received his Journeyman’s Certificate as a qualified builder and in 1996 he got his Master’s Certificate in guitar craftmanship. Sanden Guitars has been a member of the "Guild of American Luthiers" since 1983 and has participated in several conventions over the years.

Since 2010, Sanden Guitars is situated in Gothenburg Sweden.

Michael and Kari together owns and runs Sanden guitars. Right now Michael is doing all the building and Kari helps out where it is needed. Together they do their utmost to take care of you so that you are going to feel safe with your Sanden guitar.
