Lyon & Healy / Columbus / 1915 / Guitar

Fantastic parlor, made in Chicago at least 100 years ago.

They stopped making this model in 1915. They were standard steel strings and came with a standard pin bridge and for a quarter more you could order the metal tailpiece.

They started to make these guitars in 1896, and were marketed under the Jupiter, Columbus, Marquette, Lakeside, Arion, American Conservatory and Lyon & Healy brand names. The Columbus was derived from Patrick Healy son. They were less expensive models under the very popular Washburn label at that time owned by Lyon and Healy (copied from Washburn Pre-War Instrument Styles 1883-1940 by Hurbert Pleijsier)

This guitar  has been recently restored and plays and sounds beautifully. The best parlor I have ever tried. A blues and fingerpicking dream. It also sounds fantastic with a slide. It is currently strung with Martin low tension strings.

It comes with a modern, custom fitted hardcase.
