Andy Manson / Dove 1 / 1994 / Guitar

Andy Manson has been a legendary name in the industry for many years. His artistry is unique, his guitars are unique, and the tone his guitars produce is unique. Many of his Clients know this, and that's why his list of famous clients includes names like Andy Summers (Police) Jimmy Page & John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin) Ian Anderson and Don Felder (Eagles) to name a few. His guitars are always impressive, and this Dove I Dreadnought guitar from 1994 is no different. Deep, growling, warm, full; these are all terms we could use for describing the sound of this instrument. It responds to the lightest touch and is equally suited for playing rhythm guitar as it is for playing some light and sensitive fingerstyle. The classic combination of rosewood for the back and sides - a very pretty set in this case - and a spruce top has been one of the most popular tonewood pairings for ages, and in combination with the dreadnought body shape it is simply hard to beat. This Dove I - the model name does sound vaguely familiar - shows some very pretty and tasteful details like creme body bindings, a multi-layered top trim and rosette, creative pearl triple-dot fingerboard markers, side dot position markers and creme bound rosewood headstock overlay with silkscreen Martin-style logo. 1994 might seem like a long time ago already but the small amount of playwear and signs of use would suggest a much later construction date. It is in excellent condition with aforementioned minor signs of use and playwear, a lacquer touch up on the back binding and newer frets. Although Andy Manson might not be the first brand you'd think of when looking for a dreadnought this instrument is a perfect choice; it offers an open, almost vintage dreadnought sound and was built by one of the most legendary luthiers of our age. Included is a newer, perfectly fitting Hiscox hardshell case to keep it safe.  Body Shape: Dreadnought Finish: Natural Body Material: Rosewood Top Material: Spruce Lefty No Body Details: Creme body bindings, multi-layered top trim and rosette, tortoise pickguard Neck Material: Mahogany Neck Profile: C-shape Fingerboard Material: Ebony Fingerboard Radius: 20” Neck Details: Pearl dot fingerboard inlays, side dot markers, rosewood headstock overlay with silkscreen logo, creme headstock bindings Nutwidth: 44 mm - 1 3/4" Scale Length: 650 mm - 25 9/16" String spacing: 54,5 mm - 2 1/8" Bridge: Rosewood Tuners: Closed back Pickup   Condition: Excellent Cosmetic Condition: Very clean for it's age with some minimal playwear and signs of use, small lacquer touch-up in back finish near the endpin Modifications/, Repairs: Refret Tech Notes: None Travels in: Hiscox hardshell case Accessories: None

ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
