Aria Diamond / "Rock-n-Roller" 4003 Clone / 1975 / Greenburst / Bass

Made in Japan (at the Matsumoku factory) Diamond "Rock-n-Roller" bass. Diamond was a sub-brand of the Aria/Shiro Arai Co. during the seventies.
This is a decent quality Rickenbacker 4003 copy from around 1975. Even while it has a bolt-on neck instead of the through-neck design of the original, it is actually quite a high-quality well-made instrument. The bridge and mute were very accurately replicated, as were the pickups. The body is made from wood similar to mahogany/korina with ash veneers on the back and front. The neck is also made from mahogany and has a nice dark rosewood fretboard that in true Rickenbacker fashion was lacquered, offering a very smooth playing feel. The neck is straight and the frets are still in great condition.
Surely the green 'burst finish is an acquired taste but it will get you noticed on stage :)
