Blazer & Henkes / Selmer Gypsy Guitar / 2002 / Guitar

Selmer style Gypsy Jazz guitar made by Blazer & Henkes in 2002. Because B&H are primarily known for building their fabulous replicas of American style instruments only 2 of these beauties were ever made. This Selmer style guitar differs from a real Selmer in that it has solid rosewood back and sides and no zero-fret. We got this one straight from the source, and a well known guitar player said this about the guitar:  "I have since been able to compare them to other makers guitars and while some of them were also very good, I haven't found one I like better than this one. The beautiful thing about this guitar is that it has the typical Selmer sound (strong fundamental that cuts) but with more overtones and color. It cuts and sings! It also doesn't compress as easily as some other guitars that I have played, so that you can really dig in in a Jam Session and it still gets louder. Playability is of course top notch." The playwear found on this 2002 instrument can certainly be attributed to the fact that it is a lovely instrument to play. Accordingly we rate this guitar as being in Very Good condition with dings, playwear and signs of use in the finish of the entire instrument most notably below the soundhole and the back of the neck. The setup on this guitar is great which makes it very comfortable all the way up the neck. Only 2 were ever made. This is Rudie's personal. Watch Frank Wekenmann play this guitar to get a better impression of the overal sound and character:  Body Shape: Gypsy jazz Finish: Natural Body Material: Indian Rosewood Top Material: Alpine Spruce Lefty No Body Details: Rosewood bindings, marquetry rosette and backstrip Neck Material: Mahogany Neck Profile: Classical Fingerboard Material: Ebony Fingerboard Radius: 12” Neck Details: Graduated dot inlays, slotted headstock, rosewood headstock overlay Nutwidth: 45 mm - 1 3/4" Scale Length: 665 mm - 26 3/16" String spacing: 55 mm - 2 3/16" Bridge: Ebony compensated Tailpiece: Brass Selmer tailpiece w/ Ebony insert Tuners: Open Geared gold Gotoh Pickup None Condition: Very Good Cosmetic Condition: Dings, Playwear and signs of use in finish, most notably below soundhole and on back of the neck Modifications/, Repairs: None Tech Notes: None Travels in: Vintage hardshell case Accessories: None

ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
