Collings / OM1 / 2011 / Guitar

Collings OM1 from 2011. An addictive and inspiring instrument to say the very least. From the moment we took it out of it's case we noticed that this guitar has that little "something extra" we're always looking for. Strung with 012 it surprised us with a warm and rich bouquet of tones, not to exuberant, not understated, just perfect for what you'd expect from a guitar of this stature. It uses the 14-fret OM or Orchestra Model body shape designed by Martin Guitars back in the 1930s. Almost 90 years later this body shape has become the most popular 14-fret model amongst fingerstyle guitar soloists who choose to play on steel strings. Yet flatpickers also find it appealing because of it's versatility. The compact shape makes the Collings OM equally easy to handle on stage or when sitting on the couch, and the relatively shallow body (barely over 4 inches deep) results in balanced tone and an immediate response. Being a Collings, this instrument is truly in a class of it's own with immaculate detailing and build quality. It also helps that the condition is excellent, very clean with just some minor playwear and a few tiny dings in the body finish. Included is the original Collings hardshell case.  Body Shape: OM Orchestra Model Finish: Natural Gloss Body Material: Mahogany Top Material: Sitka Spruce Lefty No Body Details: Tortoise bindings and pickguard Neck Material: Mahogany Neck Profile: Soft V-shape Fingerboard Material: Ebony Fingerboard Radius: 16” Neck Details: Dot inlays Nutwidth: 43 mm - 1 11/16" Scale Length: 650 mm - 25 9/16" String spacing: 56,5 mm - 2 1/4" Bridge: Ebony Tuners: Waverly open geared Pickup None Condition: Excellent Cosmetic Condition: Very clean with some minor playwear and dings in the body finish Modifications/, Repairs: None Tech Notes: None Travels in: Hardshell case Accessories: None

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
