The story begins with Athos Davoli who in 1943, at the age of 17, worked on the radio communication systems on a Savoia Marchetti warplane at the Reggiane workshops as an apprentice. His passion for electronics led him to start a small business of his own immediately after the war and within a few years he was able to design and build valve equipment. In 1957 he founded the Krundaal Davoli company in Parma, where he had moved from his hometown Correggio. In the 1960s Davoli produced amplifiers for musical instruments and for voice and gained ever greater fame. Most Italian musical bands (then called “complexes”), and also foreign ones on tour in our country, used Davoli-Krundaal amplification systems. In that decade, a real “boom” of requests was created for the continuous flourishing of new musical groups and Davoli developed an intense collaboration with Antonio Pioli “Wandre” (1926-2004) and together they gave life to a splendid production of electric guitars, which today are collectors' items all over the world. From the end of 1965, competitions organized by Davoli began to promote their products, which rewarded the best musical groups and amateur singers, with selections throughout the country. The “RAPALLO DAVOLI” was followed in the following years by the ITALIA BEAT tournament and finally the EURODAVOLI competition in the early 70s. From these shows began the climb to popularity of many “big” artists of the years to come. The company reached its maximum development from 1969 to 1972 when it employed 220 workers, technicians and administrators. Its large production has excellent penetration in all European markets... and not only: the DAVOLISINT (mini patented 2-oscillator synthesizer) is successfully distributed in the United States and Australia. Davoli mixers and voice systems are popular throughout Europe and are requested in some African and Middle Eastern countries. In particular, a 32-channel mega mixer will be sold, in 1980, in Nigeria for a recording studio. Athos Davoli tirelessly invented and often patented his innovative products, in all sectors of musical electronics: electric pianos, electronic organs, radio systems, disco systems, electronic lighting systems, noise pollution control systems, so much so that, at the end of his career as an entrepreneur, an American University in Rhode Island awarded him the title of: Doctor of Electronic Engineering - Honoris causa. All those who knew Athos Davoli know that he always had his wife Elide at his side, tireless coordinator of the administrative department, throughout the Davoli epic; as well as mother, since 1952, of the child who would start the activity of WILDER Sas. The eldest son of Athos Davoli, known to all as Willy, but registered as Eolo, had grown up watching from backstage the Italian concerts of the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Animals, Brian Auger and had contracted the unhealthy passion that would take him, as a teenager, to the mega gathering on the Isle of Wight. There he heard Jimi Hendrix, Rory Gallagher for the first time… and was struck by lightning! At 18 he began working in the family business and in 1973 he moved to London where he followed the first steps of the English branch Davoli UK Ltd. In the following years, returning to Parma, he founded Wilder: Willy Davoli Equipements Rental to deal with the rental of amplification systems for large (and small) live shows.”
