Epiphone / Broadway / 1946 / Natural / Guitar

This is a 1946 Epiphone Broadway, serial# 54318, in Natural, straight from Epiphone New York. The Epiphone Broadway originally had a Walnut body, but switched to Maple in 1939. This was one of Epiphone's original archtop models before being bought by Gibson. Finding a Natural one is a feat and we did it! The Epi Broadway has a hand-carved, book-matched solid Adirondack spruce top; solid carved quilted Maple back and sides; solid Cherry neck with Walnut centerstripe; Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with block Mother-of-Pearl inlay; pearl vine peghead inlay, triple-bound top, bound fingerboard, back and headstock. This piece is set apart from the rest by its tailpiece. In '46, these tailpieces were not yet stamped with the 'Frequensator' insignia. The guard has seen better days, but we're just glad she has stuck around this long. The guitar has the common wear and tear of a 70+ year old guitar, but she is still in sound condition. Our Broadway comes with its original Epiphone hardshell case.
