Ernie Ball / Earthwood Guitar / 1977 / Natural Finish / Guitar For Sale

Before all the hub bub & success of the Music Man Van Halens & Stingray Basses, there was Ernie Ball’s 1st attempt to make a hit on the electric acoustic market back in 1971. Their ultra large Earthwood Basses (see last photo) came & went over a short few years & deemed quite unpopular at the time. Ernie made a few matching large guitars but we’ve never encountered an Earthwood Mini guitar like this one. Its a wonderful speciman made like a 3/4 size guitar w/a sharp cutaway w/some fabulous woods having a grainey spruce top & pretty mahogany back & sides. Its dot inlaid ebony fingerboard matches its ebony bridge. Its oval sound hold stands out as well as its quilted headstock veneer w/its large “E” logo. Stamped G139 on its neck block, it may have been Ernie’s 39th guitar & its small back trap door allows for some adjustment or neck removal. Along w/its Shaller tuners, she actually is very user friendly guitar perfect for the traveling businessman or active musician. It’s truly an exceptionally clean all original example, the only one we’ve encountered & comes inn its cite original gig bag.
