Fairbanks Regent 5 String Banjo 1911
Instrument Description:
The Fairbanks Regent 5 string banjo model must be considered rare, actually, very rare. This Banjo came from Denmark, from the Allan Olsen collection. Allan is a famous Danish singer songwriter with a soft spot for vintage instruments. Before putting it up for sale our Luthier Adrian Farmer, also Banjo maker, and Banjo Specialist, checked and cleaned the banjo and set it up. Now it is back in really great condition. The neck is original to the body, and all parts on the banjo are original to the Banjo, no replacements as far as we can tell. The Fairbanks engraved stamp on the dowel stick indicates it is made in 1911, before 1911 it the name was on a brass plate. This Regent is a first class instrument and comes with a case. Fairbanks/Vega instruments, are considered to be of the very highest quality, and undisputed set a new standard in the world that is up till today remaining as such.Although the obvious signs of wear and ageing, it is still in wonderful condition and ready to be played for many years to come. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood.
