This is a totally GROOVY 1967 Fender Bandmaster Piggyback Amp set in very clean all original shape for that Grateful Dead collector. Its Black tolex on both its head & 2×12″ cabinet are super tidy. Its Black Face panel states “Fender Musical Instruments”. What’s so cool about this amp set is its previous caretaker, Mel Grant, commissioned “Courtenay Tie Dye” who developed a tie dye style and folding technique which he called ‘Geometriart’ & became widely known for the many tie dye t-shirts, mandalas, speaker fronts and backdrops he created for ‘ The Grateful Dead’ and he became most remembered for his stage pieces. Courtenay’s journey began during the Psychedelic era where vibrant colors and a free spirit were combined to create fun and whimsical clothing and dynamic art. It also includes its original silver sparkle grill cloth set w/its raised Fender logos still in place. It has a date code of “QA” on its original Tube Chart inside the head which is for January 1967. Its cabinet is untouched loaded with 2 matching D912 12″ speakers dated to 1966 still sporting its original fiberglass stuffing. This is the perfect amp for any studio work & light enough to move between gigs. It appears completely original & works quite well being serviced recently at the Amp Shop in W. Palm Beach Florida in recent years. Fresh from Mel’s private collection as its been on display mostly never leaving his music room for any gigs. Overall she’s excellent & ready to be enjoyed by its next caretaker. Peace !!!!
