Fender / Jaguar / 1965 / Shell Pink Refin / Guitar For Sale

Up for sale is a rare 1965 Fender Jaguar guitar that has been expertly refinished in a beautiful shell pink colour by renowned guitar restorer Joe Riggio.

Joe was the lucky one who took apart and examined the only known original shell pink/gold part Jag before it was bought by Well Strung Guitars and subsequently sold to a well known collector in London. He remembers this experience well and based the finish of this one as close as he could to the finish and hue of the original which is featured in the most recent issue of Eleven magazine.

We have included a pic of this so you can see exactly how close it really is!

This guitar features factory original gold hardware, adding a touch of luxury and sophistication to its already iconic design. It is difficult to determine exactly what the original finish would have been on this but it definitely was not shell pink, probably sunburst or black. We are not sure if the pick guard is original, it could be an early white guard which would be correct for 1965 but it looks very clean. There is some routing for some other pickups in the cavities plus a centre channel for the wires.

The Fender Jaguar was first introduced in 1962 and quickly gained popularity among surf and garage rock musicians due to its unique features, including a 24-inch scale length, dual-circuit electronics, and a floating tremolo system. This particular model, manufactured in 1965, is a transitional model with no neck binding.

The superb refin by Joe Riggio has restored this guitar to something which looks truly spectacular and definitely something that will get you noticed. The shell pink colour adds a modern twist to the vintage design, making it a nice addition to any guitarist's offset collection. It has also been sympathetically reliced to look just like the original does.

This guitar has been well-preserved over the years and shows only minor signs of wear, consistent with its age. The neck is straight and the frets are in excellent condition, ensuring great playability and tone. The original gold hardware has been carefully maintained, adding to the guitar's overall value and desirability. Yes, the truss not nut is gold plated too!

Don't miss this rare opportunity to own a vintage Fender Jaguar guitar with a unique and expertly executed finish that really looks the part. This guitar is sure to be a showstopper on stage and a prized addition to a collection. It is also well priced so it can be played and used without worry...
