Now available on consignment, a 1969 Fender Competition Mustang with an old body only refinish.
This example still retains most of its original parts and its original neck finish, and decal decal. At some stage the guitar suffered a significant crack through the centre of the body and some cracks at the neck heel, this was repaired long ago and doesnt affect playability. A body only refinish was performed afterwards which has since gained lots of play wear and checking from decades of use.
Other work to the guitar includes:
- A refret with slightly bigger wire and a replaced nut, tonnes of life in these frets.
- The bridge has been replaced for a ABR-1 style with 6 saddles.
Otherwise this guitar retains most of its original hardware, pickguard, pickups (dated to 1969), and its original wiring harness with the pots dating to 1966. Its currently setup with 11s and plays great despite the repairs.
