This is one of the ultimate all original Pre-CBS Precision Basses w/all the most desirable features in untouched original condition, it has its original see-thru Blonde finish over a very lightweight Ash body dated 12/60 & weighing in at a scant 8 lbs. 8 oz; its “Unbound” Slab Rosewood Clay Dot neck is wide & full sized as only the earliest examples were still sporting its Silver Spagetti logo, she has a penciled neck date of 1/61 making it 1 of the very 1st 61’s ever produced but all else is pure December 1960, it’s sporting a very low serial # (58XXX) stamped on its back plate, its original Tortoiseshell Nitro pickgard has that luscious color used only in 1960-1, its split pickup is super smooth w/that quintessential “Jameson” sound !, its pot codes date to the 36th & 47th week of 1960, its so cool from its nickel tuners to its threaded saddle bridge, its all original in all respects & still retains its bridge & pickup covers along with every single screw from new, this is a wonderful & ultimately rare Custom Color & has a gorgeous patina for a 60 year old original, it plays & feels incredible, other than having a few dings & some buckle rash, she’s still far better than Excellent, 1 of the best & most desirable examples on Earth, comes complete w/its original serial #’d hang tag in her original Brown Tolex/Orange lined Hard Case.
